Frequently Asked Questions
What do your hygiene treatments include at Edgecliff Dental Care?
We deliver a high level preventive dentistry service including thorough scale and clean visits, professional debridement of plaque and calculus above and below the gum line, polishing to remove surface stains and fluoride application when appropriate. We also assess jaw joint function, cancer screening and provide tailored oral hygiene guidance.
How do hygiene treatments help prevent oral disease and decay?
We focus on removing hardened deposits that toothbrushes cannot remove and teach personalised cleaning techniques. This prevents gum disease, decay and maintains oral health. We also provide dietary advice and early detection of oral pathology.
How often should I book hygiene treatment and what happens after?
We recommend most patients have hygiene treatment every six months, or more often if gum health needs monitoring. After cleaning we review your oral hygiene routine, monitor healing, reinforce preventive advice and schedule regular maintenance visits to support long term gum health.
